
ANGELA (Marina Sirtis)
Marina Sirtis grew up in North London to Greek parents. After leaving
school she attended the Guild Hall School of Music and Drama, before
appearing in the Worthington Repertory Theatre Company production of Hamlet . She went on to distinguish herself in various other theatre productions including The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Rocky Horror Picture Show . She also appeared in a number of popular British television series such as Minder and Casualty . Marina is perhaps best loved for her portrayal of empathic counsellor Deanna Troi in television series Star Trek: The Next Generation . In 1990, Marina played the lead role in the British television film One Last Chance alongside fellow Bubbles
actor George Jackos, who played her onscreen husband in the production.
Throughout her prolific acting career, Marina has worked with many
esteemed actors such as Patrick Stewart, Faye Dunaway and Charles
Bronson. She is a devoted fan of Tottenham Hotspur and currently lives
in L.A. with her musician husband and their two dogs.
ANTONIA (Sandra Bilika)
Sandra
was born in Athens and has enjoyed a long and varied career both in
Greece and the UK . She is an award-winning singer and has represented
Greece in various European Festivals. She is also a distinguished
dancer and choreographer and worked extensively with the Demetris
Papademetris Theatrical Company. Sandra appeared in the lead role of
150 episodes of the hit Cypriot soap opera Coast of Dreams
during the late nineties. For the past thirteen years Sandra has been
working as a full-time producer and presenter at London Greek Radio
alongside fellow Bubbles co-star, Vasilis Panayi. Sandra currently lives in North London with her fiancé.
ANNA (Nikki Theodolou)
Nikki is seventeen years old and lives in North London . She studied
drama in Epping and has appeared at the Millfield Theatre. She enjoys
acting and dancing and is also an aspiring singer. Bubbles is her first professional job and also features her real-life brother Jordan as her onscreen nephew.
ANTONIO (Leon Yianni)
Leon trained at the Drama Centre in London before going on to appear in stage productions of Romeo and Juliet , Dorian Gray , The Rivals and A Song at Twilight . His television credits include appearances on The Bill , Sunburn and Oktober .
He recently created the scenario for Matthew Hart's ballet 'Acheron's
Dream', which was performed in the Linbury Studio as part of the Royal
Ballet's New Works season. Leon spent Christmas 2004 in Rwanda with
Anna Scher working with children from the Hutu and Tutsi tribes using
drama as a means of reconciliation and healing.
CHARLIE (George Jackos)
George has enjoyed a varied acting career in film and television. Recent television credits include The Bill , Inspector Lynley Mysteries , Murder in Mind and Coronation Street . He has appeared in feature films with eminent actors such as Charlie Sheen ( Navy Seals ), Sean Bean ( Essex Boys ), Ian Holm and Mickey Rourke ( Shergar ). George has just completed filming on Planespotting for Granada Television, which also featured Peter Polycarpou whom George recently played opposite in the short film Mad George . George enjoys fencing and football and is a keen scubadiver.
CHRISTOPHER (George Georgiou)
George's misspent childhood consisted of serving haloumi and houmous to
pensioners frequenting his parents' deli in Tufnell Park , but he
quickly rejected a life of chickpeas and pitta in favour of a more
fruitful career as an actor. He studied at the Drama Centre in London ,
where he performed, amongst other roles, Shylock in The Merchant of Venice and Angelo in Measure for Measure . Since then, he has featured in a variety of theatrical roles on the London stage including The Duchess of Malfi , Confusions and Disclosures From a Cloakroom . George has also made appearances in feature films The Odyssey and Turkish Delight and once played a pimp in a pop video by The Verve! George has just completed a hugely successful run in Cosh Omar's play The Battle of Green Lanes at Stratford East Theatre Royal.
DJ DON VASILIS (Vasilis Panayi)
Vasilis was born in Cyprus and moved to Birmingham in 1976, where he
trained at the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama. He moved to
London in 1989 and began working at London Greek Radio where he has
been a producer / presenter for the past fifteen years. Vasilis's
acting career has spanned over thirty years and he has performed on
stage and screen in Greece , Cyprus and the UK in productions of Kato Stes Teratsies , Once a Catholic , Under the Carob Trees and Lysistrata . His television credits include The Bill , Birds of a Feather , Soldier Soldier and Boon . Vasilis also put his vocal skills to use in John Madden's feature film Captain Corelli's Mandolin . Recently, Vasilis appeared in the Granada drama Planespotting alongside fellow Bubbles actors Katerina Jugati and George Jackos.
GEORGE (Panos Savvides)
Panos grew up in Highgate and attended the London Academy of Music and
Dramatic Art, before going on to appear in stage productions of Can't Pay, Won't Pay , The Immigrants and The Kiss of the Spider Women . His television credits include appearances in London's Burning , The Bill and One Last Chance , alongside Marina Sirtis and George Jackos. Panos enjoys skiing, horse riding and martial arts.
JIMMY THE GREEK (George Tardios)
George grew up in Camden , North London and began acting eight years
ago. In his time, George has been an explorer, a writer of pop songs
and a features writer for The Guardian
newspaper. In 1973 he helped establish the Arvon Foundation, a
registered charity which continues to run residential creative writing
courses across the UK . George has travelled widely and spent eight
years on expedition in Africa . He is also a poet and had his first
book of poems, Bullsong published in 1980. He has just completed a short film, Encounter , by French director Jeremy Haccoun. George also believes that donkeys are lovely!
JOHNNY (Peter Polycarpou)
Peter studied drama at Middlesex University before going on to accrue
an impressive repertoire of stage and screen credits. He has performed
alongside Hollywood greats such as Antonio Banderas ( Evita ), Kevin Kline ( De-Lovely ) and Hugh Jackman ( Oklahoma ! ). Peter is an original member of the 1985 RSC production of Les Miserables and has also performed in the West End smash-hit The Phantom of the Opera . He is perhaps best known for his turn as Chris Theodopoulopoudos in the long-running British sitcom Birds of a Feather . Peter has just completed work on his short film Mad George ,
which he wrote, directed and starred in and is currently developing a
new comedy series with Radio 4. Peter is a member of the Green Party
and supports animal rights. He is a strict vegetarian and lives in
North London .
